Aegis Energy & Cloudics Power UK Multi-Energy Hubs

Aegis Energy, a UK company focused on commercial transport solutions, has partnered with Cloudics. Cloudics is the next-generation energy management platform from Astro Baltics. This collaboration aims to operate Aegis’s ambitious network of 30 clean, multi-energy refuelling hubs across the UK by 2030.

Aegis designs these new hubs specifically for commercial fleets. They will offer a comprehensive combination of EV charging, Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), hydrogen, and bio-Compressed Natural Gas (bio-CNG). Additionally, hubs will feature bookable charging bays, round-the-clock security, and thoughtful driver amenities. This initiative forms a core part of Aegis’s mission. It actively supports the UK’s journey to net zero, ensuring the transport industry remains operational and efficient.

Connecting Clean Transport with Cloud Innovation

Aegis chose Cloudics as its innovative behind-the-scenes platform. The goal is to manage this extensive network. Cloudics will digitally unify all operations. These range from real-time management and payments to customer interaction and future service upgrades.

Eddie Davidson, Head of Technology at Aegis Energy, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “We’re delighted to be working with the innovative team at Cloudics,” he said. “They help us deliver the next generation of technology for commercial vehicle fleets. Transparency, reliability, and simplicity are at the core of enabling the energy transition—that’s exactly what our partnership with Cloudics is delivering.

The Power and Flexibility of the Cloudics Platform

Cloudics is a fully cloud-based platform. It centralizes core services into a single, unified ecosystem. This includes site management, logistics, charge point operation, and mobile payments. Its adaptable design simplifies new technology integration for Aegis. Furthermore, it enables collaboration with partners and rapid evolution within the fast-growing clean energy sector.

The platform’s power stems from a modern, streamlined, cloud-native codebase. This links to a dedicated layer of APIs and websockets. Ultimately, this advanced architecture helps prevent vendor-lock-in. Vendor-lock-in remains a common challenge with traditional retail site-systems. Leveraging the Cloudics platform vastly improves time-to-market for value-added services.

Drivers will also benefit from a seamless user experience. This comes through the white-labelled Aegis mobile app, powered by Cloudics. Via the app, they can locate commercial vehicle hubs, book charging slots, and pay on the go. Eventually, they can enjoy additional services like ordering food or earning rewards. Significantly, Aegis gains the flexibility to choose any best-in-class technology provider. They know they can easily plug these into the Cloudics platform.

Driving the UK’s Clean Transport Transition

Gary Szendzielarz, Head of Business Development at Cloudics, emphasized the partnership’s significance. “We’re proud to support Aegis Energy’s bold vision for clean transport infrastructure in the UK,” he stated. “This partnership is a testament to how cloud technology can transform the energy retail landscape. It makes it smarter, faster, and more responsive to change.

Aegis Energy plans to complete its initial five-station network by 2027. The first location is scheduled to open in 2026.
