Delta Builds Net-Zero Green HQ in Netherlands

Delta, a global leader in power management and smart green solutions, announced a key milestone today. The company plans to construct a new regional headquarters green building in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. This significant expansion drives Delta’s efforts across EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa).

The state-of-the-art facility will span approximately 9,300 square meters. It is located within the renowned Park 20|20 business campus. Delta expects to complete construction by the end of 2026. The building will accommodate over 350 employees, covering R&D, business development, management, and other functions. Delta’s smart, energy-saving solutions aim to help the facility achieve net-zero energy and the prestigious BREEAM-Outstanding green building certification.

Strong Regional and National Support

This substantial expansion has garnered strong support at both regional and national levels. Marianne Schuurmans, Mayor of Haarlemmermeer, welcomed the news. “We are delighted to welcome Delta Electronics, a global leader in sustainable technology, to Haarlemmermeer,” Schuurmans commented. “Our excellent international connectivity and vibrant economy make this region the ideal home for forward-thinking companies. Delta’s dedication to energy efficiency and smart infrastructure not only enhances our local economy but also aligns with our vision for a sustainable future. Congratulations on the construction of your new EMEA headquarters in Hoofddorp. We wish Delta Electronics every success in their journey ahead.

Hilde van der Meer, Commissioner for the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), echoed this sentiment from a national perspective. She stated, “We warmly welcome the expansion of Delta Electronics’ activities in the Netherlands. We are grateful for our longstanding and strong relationship with the company as NFIA. Delta’s innovative technologies add significant value to developments taking place in the Netherlands. We look forward to further connecting them with key players in our innovation ecosystems, enabling them to make a significant contribution to R&D development in our country.

Strategic Location and Delta’s Vision

Dalip Sharma, President and General Manager, Delta Electronics EMEA, emphasized Delta’s strategic rationale. “Delta’s new regional headquarters building demonstrates our strong commitment to the EMEA region and to Hoofddorp,” Sharma stated. He highlighted Hoofddorp’s strategic location, noting its proximity to key customers, partners, and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport – an unparalleled gateway to the European market. “Moreover, choosing Park 20|20, renowned for its focus on sustainability and circular economy principles, aligns perfectly with Delta’s ESG values,” Sharma added. “The Haarlemmermeer region offers access to a highly skilled, multilingual talent pool and a vibrant international business ecosystem. All of these factors are crucial for Delta’s long-term growth and diverse operations.

Designed for Innovation, Collaboration, and Sustainability

The new building will add approximately 9,300 square meters. Across five floors, it will provide around 350 modern workspaces for Delta’s growing EMEA team. G&S& develops this state-of-the-art office building in partnership with MVSA Architects, who provided its remarkable design.

The facility’s design fosters innovation and collaboration. It features a central five-story atrium that brings natural light deep into the building. The hub also includes a dedicated showroom displaying Delta’s latest technologies, laboratory space, and advanced meeting facilities. Areas dedicated to creativity and relaxation also enhance the space. An advanced climate ceiling system further improves employee well-being; this system provides draught-free radiant heating and cooling. Furthermore, the building will include 126 underground parking spaces. Delta electric vehicle (EV) chargers will also be available to accelerate employees’ low-carbon transportation.

Commitment to Net-Zero Design and BREEAM-Outstanding

Sustainability truly stands at the core of the new building’s design. Approximately 715 solar panels will fully cover the rooftop. These panels expect to generate over 335,500 kWh of renewable electricity annually. This output will cover the building’s estimated yearly consumption. This commitment, combined with an energy-efficient architectural design, the climate ceiling, a connection to Park 20|20’s central geothermal heat pump system, and a separate Delta Energy Storage System (ESS), exemplifies Delta’s dedication to the highest environmental standards. The company specifically targets the BREEAM-Outstanding green building certification.

This new building will further solidify Delta’s EMEA headquarters as a central hub for its regional operations. It will drive innovation, support customers, and reinforce the company’s position as a leader in energy-efficient solutions and sustainable development.
