Emobi & ElectricFish Partner for Grid-Independent EV Charging

Emobi, a leader in EV charging roaming infrastructure, has partnered with ElectricFish, a national innovator in distributed energy infrastructure. This collaboration brings together Emobi’s patented JustPlug technology with ElectricFish’s grid-independent charging depots. The new partnership aims to solve two significant barriers to mass EV adoption: the speed of charging and the limitations of existing grid infrastructure.

Eliminating Barriers with a Two-Pronged Approach

The deployment of new fast chargers is often hindered by lengthy and costly grid upgrades. These processes can take up to two years and exceed $100,000 per installation. This partnership directly addresses that problem. ElectricFish’s 350Squared system, with its microgrid-scale energy storage, delivers ultra-fast charging while dramatically reducing the need for expensive grid upgrades by up to 90%.

Simultaneously, Emobi’s JustPlug technology solves compatibility issues. It enables 80% of existing EVs and chargers—which lack traditional Plug & Charge capabilities—to experience seamless, automatic charging. The technology also enhances security through encryption and certificate authentication.

This partnership exemplifies our commitment to future-proofing EV infrastructure as we expand beyond public charging into fleet charging depots,” said Lin Sun Fa, CEO of Emobi. “ElectricFish’s approach to solving grid constraints complements our JustPlug technology’s ability to eliminate compatibility barriers across both public and fleet use cases. The same protocols we use today for JustPlug will also power Vehicle-to-Grid communication, ensuring our infrastructure can adapt as the industry evolves.

Fast, Seamless, and Grid-Resilient Charging

The combined solution offers substantial benefits for both drivers and charging station operators. ElectricFish’s 350Squared system charges vehicles 133% faster than traditional hardware. This speed, coupled with Emobi’s JustPlug, creates a user experience similar to fueling a gas-powered vehicle: a quick plug-in for an ultra-fast charging session with seamless authentication.

According to Anurag Kamal, CEO of ElectricFish, this partnership will revolutionize the EV charging experience. Our 350Squared units bring the simplicity of gas station fueling to EV charging: ultra-fast sessions, seamless authentication, and grid-independent resilience,” he noted. “By partnering with Emobi, we’re enabling public and fleet drivers to plug in and power up in minutes, and securing charging while operators maximize utilization and revenue opportunities.

Real-World Deployments and Global Scalability

The integrated solutions will soon be demonstrated through new deployments in several key locations. These include Detroit, Redwood City, and Oakland, California. The projects will showcase how JustPlug-enabled ElectricFish charging stations can provide a seamless and grid-independent charging experience.

Ultimately, this collaboration creates a pathway for the global expansion of charging networks. By combining solutions that scale rapidly without straining existing infrastructure, Emobi and ElectricFish are making EV adoption more effortless for both fleets and drivers worldwide.
