Within a single week, the company launched four new ultra-rapid charging locations in Barking, Chingford, Pinner, and Watford. With these additions, LEAP24 now operates nine ultra-rapid charging sites inside the M25, solidifying its position as London’s sixth-largest ultra-rapid Charge Point Operator (CPO).
Each new site features multiple 150-300kW charging points. They are fully open to the public and provide wide bays, ensuring accessible and convenient use for all drivers. Customers experience a seamless charging process: no app, membership, or subscription is needed. Drivers simply tap and charge with contactless payment or charge cards. Moreover, LEAP24 offers London’s lowest average standard ultra-rapid rate at just 69p/kWh. This competitive pricing makes it a highly attractive option for both commercial and private EV drivers.
Driving Frictionless Clean Mobility
Pelle Schlichting, Founder and CEO of LEAP24, highlighted the company’s core mission. “We founded LEAP24 to remove the friction from clean mobility,” Schlichting stated. “Our London expansion clearly shows how fast, simple, and fair EV charging can be. Founded in the Netherlands in 2021, LEAP24 actively builds a North-West European network of ultra-rapid charging locations. Their strategy focuses on major cities and vital transit corridors. In the UK, the operator specifically targets high-demand areas like Greater London. This supports the growing uptake of EVs, particularly among delivery, ride-hailing, and business fleets. These fleets face increasing pressure from tightening clean air policies such as the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).
