Renault’s Master E-Tech: Spearheading the E-Revolution in Commercial Vans

In an ambitious stride towards electrification, Renault is poised to disrupt the European commercial vehicle sector with its forthcoming Master E-Tech electric van, slated for release in spring 2024. This launch symbolizes not just an expansion of Renault’s electric portfolio but a pivotal advancement in electric mobility, merging state-of-the-art engineering with a commitment to sustainability.

Mastering Efficiency and Performance

The Master E-Tech electric van distinguishes itself through a duo of powertrain configurations, each tailored to specific operational demands. The baseline model integrates a robust 96 kW motor with a 40 kWh battery, promising a commendable WLTP-certified range of up to 180 km (approximately 112 miles). For those seeking extended journeys, a superior variant is equipped with a 105 kW motor and an 87 kWh battery, boasting an impressive range of nearly 410 km (about 255 miles), both delivering a solid 300 Nm of torque.

What sets the Master E-Tech apart is Renault’s holistic approach to its design. The van benefits from the revolutionary “Aerovan” design principle, coupled with a platform meticulously refined for efficiency. This collaboration results in a vehicle that consumes over 27% less energy than its predecessor, establishing a new benchmark in the realm of electric commercial vehicles.

Uncompromised Capability

Functionality remains paramount with the Master E-Tech, which offers a payload capacity of 1,625 kg and towing capabilities up to 2.75 tons. The van introduces a dynamic braking system, enriched with Vehicle to Load (V2L) and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) functionalities, highlighting Renault’s dedication to innovation and environmental stewardship.

Aerodynamic Excellence Meets Sustainable Innovation

Renault’s “Aerovan” design isn’t merely aesthetic; it’s a testament to the brand’s commitment to reducing drag and enhancing efficiency. Through exhaustive wind tunnel testing, every contour of the Master E-Tech has been optimized for aerodynamic performance, contributing to its standout efficiency irrespective of energy source.

Cutting-Edge Charging Solutions

The Master E-Tech is at the forefront of charging technology and connectivity, offering rapid charging solutions that ensure minimal downtime. With a 130 kW DC fast charge capability adding 252 km of range in just 30 minutes and a comprehensive 22 kW AC home Wallbox charging option, the van is designed for the demands of modern businesses.

Manufacturing with Pride

Proudly assembled in France, the Master E-Tech reflects Renault’s commitment not only to innovation but to local production. Offering a range of configurations, including ICE, electric, and hydrogen versions, the van caters to diverse needs while maintaining a singular production line in Batilly, showcasing the brand’s flexible manufacturing capabilities.

Renault Leads the Charge

The impending launch of the Renault Master E-Tech electric van marks a significant milestone in the commercial vehicle industry’s transition to electric mobility. By seamlessly blending advanced technology with eco-friendly practices, Renault is setting a new standard for efficiency, performance, and sustainability in the electric van market, ensuring that the Master E-Tech will be a key player in shaping the future of commercial transportation.
