RIZON Electric Trucks Expand in California, Driving National Dealer Growth

The transition to electric commercial transportation is accelerating across the U.S., driven by major fleet deployments in key markets. RIZON, the dedicated all-electric commercial truck brand, announced today the deployment of more than 20 medium-duty electric trucks across California and a significant expansion of its dealership network into four new states.

This move signals a critical shift from pilot programs to full-scale operational integration. Fleets and municipalities are now rapidly adopting electric solutions to meet sustainability goals and gain long-term operational efficiencies.

How Diverse California Fleets Are Scaling Up with EVs

The latest deliveries highlight the electric truck’s versatility, proving that zero-emission logistics can handle everything from delicate linen delivery to heavy-duty urban sanitation. By integrating EVs into their daily operations, these companies are directly addressing regulatory compliance (like California’s environmental mandates) while reducing fuel and maintenance costs.

The deployments span critical public and private sectors:

  • Urban Sanitation and Public Works: The City of Bakersfield is adding six RIZON trucks to its municipal fleet for community clean-up and waste collection, four of which feature flatbed bodies.
  • Facilities and Campus Operations: Long Beach City College, recognized for its sustainability leadership, is deploying five RIZON trucks with service bodies for campus maintenance.
  • Hospitality and Logistics: Republic Master Chefs is utilizing five RIZON box trucks for delivering linens across Southern California, ensuring quieter, emission-free urban deliveries.
  • Renewable Energy Distribution: West Coast Biofuel added two RIZON flatbeds to support the distribution of low-emission fuels—a perfect alignment of sustainable operations.

Seeing RIZON trucks at work in such a wide range of industries… underscores the practicality of electric trucks in everyday operations,” stated Alex Voets, general manager of RIZON USA. The operational data collected from these deployments will be critical in demonstrating the total cost of ownership (TCO) benefits of electrification.

Addressing the Fleet Manager’s Top Questions: Range and Charging

For fleet managers considering the transition, questions about range, payload, and charging infrastructure are paramount. The RIZON lineup is specifically designed to alleviate these concerns for medium-duty, high-frequency urban routes.

The Class 4-5 battery-electric trucks, which range from 15,995 to 18,850 lbs. GVW, offer flexible battery configurations:

  • Standard Range (M size): Up to 110 miles (177 km) on a single charge.
  • Extended Range (L size): Up to 160 miles (257 km) on a single charge.

Charging Flexibility is Key

To maximize uptime, the trucks support dual charging systems: DC Fast Charging (CCS1) for rapid turnarounds and Level 2 AC Charging (J1772) for overnight depot charging. This dual-capability strategy helps fleets integrate the new trucks seamlessly into existing power infrastructure.

RIZON’s Dealer Network Signals National Market Confidence

The simultaneous expansion of the dealer network underscores the growing nationwide demand and provides the necessary sales and service infrastructure to support broad adoption. RIZON has established new partnerships in key regional markets:

  • Diversified Truck and Equipment Sales (Arizona)
  • Range Zero Emissions (Washington)
  • Alta eMobility (New Jersey and New York), a division of Alta Equipment Group, providing specialized, end-to-end fleet electrification services.

The inclusion of partners specializing in EV solutions, like Range Zero Emissions and Alta eMobility, is critical. These dealerships often help customers navigate complex local incentive programs, reducing the initial financial barrier to entry for many fleets.

The company’s foundation—being manufactured by a global OEM with decades of commercial vehicle expertise and over 7 million miles of electric driving experience—provides confidence in reliability, which is essential for commercial uptime. This proven heritage, combined with an industry-leading warranty, positions the brand as a dependable choice in a rapidly evolving market.
