AVILOO Launches Insured Battery Warranty in France and Sweden for Used EV Market

WIENER NEUDORF, AUSTRIA — Battery diagnostics specialist AVILOO has announced the launch of the AVILOO Battery Warranty, a complimentary, financially backed protection mechanism designed to shift battery health from a used-vehicle risk factor into a transparent selling point. Marking a new approach to EV remarketing, the program introduces an independent diagnostic baseline tied directly to a formal purchase warranty.

The initiative officially went live on June 1, 2026, in France and Sweden, serving as the opening phase of a multi-stage European deployment.

Integration with the AVILOO Connect Platform

The new Battery Warranty acts as the central pillar of AVILOO Connect, a newly developed digital ecosystem tailored for commercial EV remarketing channels. Within this workspace, automotive dealers, wholesale operations, fleet management networks, and digital sales platforms can manage the entire lifecycle of an automotive battery evaluation—spanning from field telemetry procurement to the automated underwriting of the warranty policy.

Architecturally, the product builds upon the established AVILOO FLASH Test, a three-minute independent quick test that awards the “AVILOO Certified” quality seal. While standard test certificates exclusively document the battery’s real-time State of Health (SoH) metrics, the newly decoupled Battery Warranty adds prognostic asset protection to mitigate financial losses stemming from future operational degradation or latent module defects.

The AVILOO Battery Warranty raises the used electric vehicle market to a new level,” stated Marcus Berger, CEO of AVILOO. “For the first time, we are providing the foundation for a warranty based solely on objective, independent measurement data. This builds trust and makes risks calculable.

Data-Driven Limits and Swiss Re Backing

The financial structure of the warranty relies heavily on data-based calculation models derived from AVILOO’s proprietary global battery diagnostics database. Rather than utilizing generic coverage rules, the system computes a customized, vehicle-specific SoH threshold that the vehicle must not breach during the coverage period.

The coverage framework operates under explicit operational parameters:

  • Term & Mileage: The policy covers a duration of one year or up to 20,000 kilometers driven.
  • Verification Clause: Used EV buyers retain the right to conduct a FLASH Test at any point during the active warranty period.
  • Financial Recourse: If the physical condition of the battery drops below the mathematically projected SoH baseline, the policy triggers a direct €3,000 compensation payout to the owner, alongside a full refund of the diagnostic testing fees.

To secure the financial stability of the program at scale, AVILOO has partnered with global insurance giant Swiss Re, which acts as the official reinsurer for the warranty liabilities.

Multi-Phase European Rollout Roadmap

Following the June 1 opening activations in France and Sweden, AVILOO has scheduled an aggressive cross-border expansion to secure its position as Europe’s primary independent EV evaluation standard.

With the Battery Warranty, we are setting a new industry standard,” Berger added. “It provides orientation for all market participants, strengthens the decision in favor of electric mobility, and ensures that used EVs are perceived not as a risk, but as a sustainable and trustworthy option for the future.
