LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Eqonic Group and the Barton Knight Group have announced the signing of a strategic Collaboration Agreement. The deal establishes a long-term structured framework designed to jointly pursue, deliver, and scale renewable energy and battery-storage infrastructure projects across residential, commercial, and industrial markets in the United Kingdom.
The alliance pairs Eqonic’s product development in battery storage and power conversion hardware with Barton Knight’s regional installation, deployment, and asset maintenance networks. By integrating product manufacturing with localized engineering services, the two UK entities aim to capture market share amid accelerating domestic demand for decentralized clean-energy assets.
Operational Framework and Preferred Supplier Status
The Collaboration Agreement creates an end-to-end commercial channel governed by distinct operational boundaries. Rather than forming a joint venture, both organizations will continue to operate as independent corporate entities while granting each other mutual “preferred supplier” status to streamline procurement and pipeline coordination.
The division of responsibilities under the agreement follows a specialized structure:
- Hardware & Technical Support: Eqonic is designated to supply battery storage systems, power inverters, and ongoing engineering support to Barton Knight under specific Supply Contracts.
- Deployment & Maintenance: Barton Knight will serve as the fulfillment partner, executing on-site installation and preventative maintenance services for Eqonic’s client base via individual Services Contracts.
- Pipeline Development: Both parties will systematically cross-promote commercial opportunities, offering customers an integrated hardware-plus-service delivery model.
Aligning Regulatory Compliance and Tech Hardware
The deployment framework mandates a unified approach to field logistics, joint project assessments, and strict adherence to UK safety standards and National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) best practices.
“This collaboration strengthens Eqonic’s ability to deliver high-performance energy-storage solutions at scale,” stated Jas Kandola, CEO of Eqonic Group. “Barton Knight’s installation expertise complements our technology platform perfectly, enabling us to accelerate deployment and support customers across the UK with a fully integrated offering.”
Eqonic focuses its research and development on advanced commercial and residential battery systems, alongside next-generation non-lithium energy-storage alternatives. Securing an established installation partner ensures that these complex chemical and digital battery systems are deployed with predictable field reliability.
Servicing Growing Industrial Demand
For Barton Knight Group, a seasoned electrical contractor established in 2006, the contract funnels high-volume storage projects directly into Barton Knight Energy, its dedicated renewables and generation division. This division operates alongside the group’s massive public sector healthcare unit (Barton Knight Contracting) and its commercial/residential service branch (Barton Knight Electrical).
“Eqonic’s innovative battery technologies and cutting-edge Research and Development align with our mission to deliver reliable, future-ready renewable energy systems,” added Paul Vine, Director of Barton Knight Energy. “Together, we are well positioned to serve the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions and deliver exceptional value to customers.”
