Greater Charging Convenience for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac Drivers
Great news for General Motors (GM) electric vehicle (EV) drivers! They can now access over 17,800 Tesla Supercharger stations across North America, significantly expanding their charging options. This move signifies GM’s commitment to making EV ownership more convenient and accelerating the transition to electric mobility.
Seamless Charging Experience
GM EV drivers can utilize their vehicle brand mobile apps to:
- Purchase a GM-approved NACS DC adapter (MSRP $225 USD) for connecting their vehicle to Tesla Superchargers.
- Locate available Supercharger stations.
- Check station status.
- Initiate a charging session.
- Pay for charging fees.
Enhanced Network Access
The addition of the Tesla Supercharger network means GM customers now have access to a massive network of over 231,800 public Level 2 and DC fast chargers in the US and Canada. This number is constantly growing as GM collaborates with various entities to expand charging infrastructure in communities and high-traffic corridors.
Commitment to EV Infrastructure
“GM’s ongoing efforts to help accelerate the expansion of public charging infrastructure is an integral part of our commitment to an all-electric future,” said Wade Sheffer, vice president of GM Energy.
This move further strengthens GM’s dedication to providing a seamless EV ownership experience by offering convenient and accessible charging options for current and future EV drivers.
Multiple Adapter Suppliers & Safety Measures
To ensure customer satisfaction and adapter availability, GM plans to collaborate with several suppliers for the NACS DC adapters. Each adapter is rigorously tested to guarantee compatibility with EVs and adherence to the North American Charging Standard.
