Kempower and GET Charged Launch New York Retail Fast-Charging Network

DURHAM, NC — January 13, 2026Kempower and GET Charged Fast EV Charging today announced the grand opening of their first DC fast-charging station at the Glen Oaks Shopping Center (259-01 Union Turnpike, Queens). The site marks the first of a five-station network that will deliver 80 high-speed charging ports to the New York region by early 2026.

Powered by Kempower’s industry-leading distributed Satellite charging technology, the network is strategically integrated into high-traffic retail hubs, allowing New York’s growing EV population to combine high-speed charging with grocery shopping and dining.

Destination Charging: Retail Hubs Meet Fast Charging

The partnership executes a “destination charging” strategy proven globally: positioning infrastructure where drivers already spend time rather than requiring dedicated detours.

Globally, EV drivers increasingly prefer charging spots with access to a variety of services like the GET Charged retail-centered charging hubs,” said Monil Malhotra, President of Kempower North America. “We’re pleased to work with GET Charged to provide accessible, reliable solutions for New York EV drivers.

Kempower Satellite Technology & Specifications

Each site deploys eight dual Kempower Satellites designed for efficient power sharing. This distributed architecture ensures that power is dynamically balanced across multiple vehicles, maximizing charging speeds for every driver.

Technical Highlights:

  • Universal Compatibility: Dual NACS and CCS1 connectors support Tesla and all other EV models.
  • Frictionless Access: App-free “Tap-and-Go” payments; no memberships or subscriptions required.
  • Driver Connectivity: Free high-speed Wi-Fi at every station.
  • Transparent Pricing: Competitive, fixed rates for both residents and visitors.

Five-Site New York Expansion Roadmap

The Glen Oaks location is the flagship for a rapid regional expansion:

  • Now Open: Glen Oaks Shopping Center (259-01 Union Turnpike, Queens, NY)
  • Opening Early 2026:
    • Whitestone, Queens
    • Levittown, Nassau County
    • Elmont, Nassau County
    • Commack, Suffolk County

A Strategic Partnership for Reliability

By combining Kempower’s hardware innovation with GET Charged’s local deployment expertise, the partnership addresses the unique challenges of urban charging.

Kempower is the ideal partner for supplying innovative, world-class charging hardware to meet New York’s fast-charging needs,” said Marc Horowitz, Co-Managing Partner at GET Charged.

The retail-integration model solves key urban pain points by offering convenience, universal connector access, and high-utilization locations that ensure infrastructure reliability and long-term viability.
