SWTCH & FLO Launch Roaming Agreement for EV Drivers

SWTCH Energy and FLO, two leading providers of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, have announced a comprehensive roaming agreement. This strategic collaboration directly addresses the critical industry challenge of network fragmentation. By allowing users of one network to access the other’s stations through their existing app, the partnership significantly improves access and streamlines the charging experience for EV drivers across North America.

Eliminating Barriers for a Seamless Experience

The expanding EV market has created friction for drivers who often need multiple apps, accounts, and payment methods to charge on different networks. This complexity has become a major barrier to wider EV adoption, especially for frequent travelers and drivers in regions with a variety of providers. The new roaming integration between SWTCH and FLO delivers immediate and tangible value to thousands of drivers on both networks by:

  • Simplifying Access: Drivers can now use either the SWTCH or FLO app to seamlessly charge on both networks, giving them unified access to tens of thousands of chargers across North America.
  • Ensuring Convenience: Existing charging wallets and payment methods work seamlessly across both networks, eliminating the need to create new accounts.
  • Facilitating Trip Planning: The expanded network visibility makes it significantly easier for drivers to plan long-distance trips with confidence.

A Shared Vision for a Connected Ecosystem

Both SWTCH and FLO emphasize that this type of collaboration is essential for the industry’s future.

Our partnership with FLO represents exactly the kind of industry collaboration that will encourage and accelerate EV adoption,” said Carter Li, CEO of SWTCH. “By breaking down network silos, SWTCH users now have access to more than 70,000 chargers across North America. We’re creating the seamless, integrated charging ecosystem that drivers deserve and the industry needs to reach its full potential.

Louis Tremblay, President and CEO of FLO, echoed this sentiment, highlighting how the agreement strengthens FLO’s already extensive network. “Through our roaming agreements, FLO members can access more than 110,000 public chargers today,” Tremblay stated. “Working with SWTCH strengthens that network even further, giving drivers the confidence that charging will be seamless wherever their road takes them.

The agreement extends both companies’ commitment to network connectivity, as each has existing roaming agreements with several other charging networks in the U.S. and Canada. This strategic collaboration marks a significant step toward a more unified and accessible EV charging ecosystem, ultimately paving the way for wider EV adoption.
