WiTricity Announces Major Wireless Charging Shift for Resort and Golf Fleets

ORLANDO, Florida – WiTricity AI Tech, LLC, the leader in wireless power transfer, is preparing to launch a significant change for commercial electric fleets worldwide. The company confirmed today that it will use the 73rd annual PGA Show in Orlando, scheduled for January 20–23, 2026, to unveil a major strategic product. This announcement signals a definitive move away from traditional plug-in standards.

WiTricity chose the Low-Speed Electric Vehicle (LSEV) segment—which includes golf carts, Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs), and Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTVs)—as the critical entry point for mass-market wireless charging adoption. The company invites attendees to Booth #2173 to see what officials call a fundamental re-engineering of commercial fleet power management.

The Strategic Unveiling: Efficiency in Focus

While WiTricity will showcase its established technology, the MR/1™ 900W Wireless Charging system, the main focus will be a “brand-new wireless charging product.” This secretive debut suggests the company is expanding its product line to target the crucial logistics and hospitality infrastructure market directly.

The MR/1 system itself already offers clear value: automatic charging starts when a vehicle simply parks over a Power Hub. This “park and power” model removes the hassle, maintenance, and potential hazards of cables and manual connectors. This is especially vital in busy, public areas like resorts and residential communities.

Joe Benz, WiTricity CEO, emphasized the high commercial interest in this upgrade. “Our recent survey of golf car and NEV owners showed overwhelming support for wireless charging,” Benz stated. “Users consistently prioritize ease of use, safety, and convenience. In fact, they preferred vehicles with wireless charging by more than 2-to-1. This data confirms that convenience is no longer a luxury—it is now a critical market expectation.

To appeal to the premium segment, the MR/1 will be highlighted through its integration with high-end partners, including the Kinetic Green Tonino Lamborghini Luxury Electric Golf Carts. This partnership showcases how seamless technology integration can improve premium vehicle design and functionality.

Fleet Management: A Hands-Free Future

For business operators, the move to wireless technology is about more than just novelty. It is about fundamentally streamlining how fleets operate. The core benefits address the most persistent problems in fleet management:

  • Automation and Uptime: Hands-free operation ensures charging schedules are met, maximizing vehicle time on the road. It eliminates human error in plugging and unplugging.
  • Safety Priority: Removing exposed high-voltage connectors significantly boosts safety. This is a non-negotiable factor for commercial fleets that operate around staff and the public.
  • Durability and Longevity: The technology is built for reliability in harsh outdoor conditions, such as those found on golf courses and resort properties.
  • Infrastructure Flexibility: The design of the Power Hub lets one physical station efficiently serve multiple vehicles over time, making facility expansion significantly easier.

Defining the New Market Standard

WiTricity’s decision to launch this technology at the PGA Show is highly strategic. LSEV fleets are mission-critical assets at resorts and require constant readiness. In these environments, minimizing human intervention and maximizing asset use directly affects profitability.

The introduction of automated, weatherproof wireless charging creates a powerful infrastructure layer. It is simpler to manage and less prone to damage than traditional charging stations. This hands-free model is crucial for the future adoption of autonomous vehicles, which will have no human driver available to connect a plug.

Analysts believe the two-to-one consumer preference that WiTricity observed is the most important takeaway. This high demand suggests that wireless charging will quickly change from an optional feature into a required competitive standard in luxury and commercial mobility. This move by WiTricity is not just a product launch; it is an active effort to define the next generation of necessary EV transportation i
