XCharge, a global leader in integrated EV charging solutions, has announced a collaboration with Hertz to significantly upgrade EV charging infrastructure at key US East Coast airport rental facilities. XCharge has already completed construction at Hertz locations in three major East Coast airports and has secured a pipeline of future projects at additional airport sites along the eastern seaboard.
Overcoming Airport Charging Challenges
US airport rental car locations present unique challenges for EV adoption due to limited space and utility grid constraints. XCharge’s solutions are designed to address these specific challenges, offering fast and straightforward installation without requiring extensive site upgrades. This approach maximizes efficiency and minimizes construction complexity for Hertz.
Fast Charging for Faster Turnover
XCharge’s Level 3 charging stations offer significantly faster charging times compared to the more common Level 2 solutions found at many existing airport locations. This rapid charging capability resolves potential rental car service bottlenecks and enhances customer satisfaction by minimizing wait times. In the initial Hertz airport project, XCharge’s simultaneous charging technology reportedly improved charging speeds by more than tenfold, drastically reducing average charging times.
A Holistic Approach to Partnership
“Weāre thrilled by the positive outcomes of our collaboration with Hertz,” said Aatish Patel, President of XCharge. “The results underscore our commitment to being more than just a hardware supplier ā we want to resolve our partnersā most pressing concerns as efficiently as possible, whether that is site design, operational efficiency, or even EV charging education. By focusing on Hertzās holistic needs, we have created turnkey solutions that quickly and effectively address pain points across their location portfolio. We look forward to expanding our cooperation with Hertz and bringing our high-quality charging services to more rental car customers nationwide.ā
Expanding EV Charging Access
With charging anxiety remaining a primary concern for EV drivers, particularly those new to electric vehicles, XCharge aims to strategically expand its presence in high-traffic locations. This strategy allows the company to introduce its convenient and high-speed charging services to a broader consumer base
