Morris Garages (MG), a brand with British origins now thriving under Chinese ownership, is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the launch of a special edition electric roadster, the MG Cyberster 100. This exclusive model, limited to just 100 units, encapsulates a century of automotive excellence.

The MG Cyberster 100, priced at around €47,500 (RMB 365,000), is a perfect blend of MG’s rich heritage and modern electric technology. It features a contemporary take on the classic Old English White color, complemented by a burgundy soft-top and interior. This limited-edition model is a tribute to MG’s legacy, combining classic aesthetics with cutting-edge electric performance.
High-Performance Electric Roadster
Powered by two electric motors delivering a combined output of 400 kW, the Cyberster 100 boasts a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.2 seconds. It is equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack supplied by CATL, offering a CLTC-estimated range of 520 km. While the real-life range might be lower, it still promises impressive performance for an electric roadster.
MG’s Evolution and Market Impact
Since its inception in 1924, MG has been known for producing sporty and stylish cars, gaining fame in motorsport and through iconic models like the MG TC and MGB. Under SAIC Motor’s ownership, MG has pivoted towards affordable electric vehicles, gaining popularity in Europe. However, the Cyberster’s European pricing, starting at €65,000, moves away from MG’s traditional affordability.

The Cyberster’s latest limited-edition variant in China, priced at $50,930 (RMB 365,800), features a beige body and red top, reviving the color scheme of MG’s classic models. The Cyberster is equipped with advanced features, including a four-wheel-drive system, permanent magnet synchronous motors, and fast acceleration capabilities.
