OXFORDSHIRE, UK — August 28, 2026 — Battery material innovator Nexeon announced today that its commercial production site in Gunsan, South Korea, has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system.
The certification marks an important milestone for the Gunsan site as Nexeon prepares to supply high-volume silicon-carbon anode materials to automotive OEMs and global battery manufacturers.
Announced as production-ready in December 2025, the Gunsan facility serves as Nexeon’s first commercial-scale manufacturing plant. ISO 9001:2015 is an internationally recognised standard for quality management systems, covering manufacturing operations, process control, quality assurance and continuous improvement. The certification demonstrates that the Gunsan operation has established and implemented a comprehensive quality management system across key aspects of manufacturing, quality control, process management and continuous improvement.

Supply Chain Proximity and Modular Scalability
The Gunsan facility benefits from a strategically located supply chain, including direct access to monosilane, a critical precursor for Nexeon’s silicon-carbon materials. Its location also provides proximity to major Asian battery manufacturers and supports efficient integration into established battery supply chains.
The plant has been designed to enable Nexeon to expand capacity through the systematic addition of reactors as customer demand grows. This provides a scalable platform for the company’s transition to high-volume production, and supports its position as a leading global supplier of silicon-based anode materials.
Nexeon is continuing to progress customer production qualification programmes under rigorous automotive quality standards. The ISO 9001 certification provides a strong foundation for this next phase of commercialisation.
