VW’s 2023 ID.4: Now with Plug&Charge at Electrify America

Volkswagen of America (VW) has just made a significant announcement for its 2023 ID.4 owners. The popular electric SUV will now include Plug&Charge functionality at Electrify America (EA) charging stations. This exciting development simplifies the charging experience, making it more convenient and user-friendly.

Seamless Charging for 2023 ID.4 Owners

If you’re the proud owner of a 2023 VW ID.4, you’re in for a treat. Volkswagen has introduced Plug&Charge support, allowing you to tap into the benefits effortlessly. Starting in early 2024, you can activate this feature via the Electrify America app, streamlining the charging process.

Plug&Charge relies on advanced V2G communication technology, incorporating robust security measures to ensure the safety of your transactions.

Electrify America: Leading the Way

Electrify America boasts the distinction of being the largest open DC fast-charging network in North America. With over 900 stations and 4,000 chargers, it offers extensive coverage. What’s more, it’s the pioneer among open DC fast-charging networks to introduce Plug&Charge for compatible EVs equipped with CCS charging connectors.

ID.4: Your Choices, Your Way

The 2023 ID.4 comes in three trim levels: Standard/Pro, S, and S Plus. You can choose from 62 kWh and 82 kWh battery options, as well as between rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations. Notably, the 2023 ID.4 qualifies for the $7,500 Inflation Reduction Act tax credit.

Pricing for the ID.4 Standard model, equipped with a 62 kWh battery and an EPA-estimated range of 209 miles, starts at $38,995.

Enjoy Three Years of Free Fast Charging

As an ID.4 owner, you’ll enjoy the added perk of three years of unlimited free 30-minute DC fast-charging sessions at Electrify America stations. This generous offer enhances the appeal of this electric SUV and makes it even more accessible for long-distance travel.

Simplified Charging, Streamlined Experience

Many electric vehicle (EV) owners are familiar with the occasional complexities of using fast chargers. Whether it’s issues with payment processing or technical glitches, it can be frustrating. With Plug&Charge, VW aims to streamline the experience, akin to the seamless process at Tesla Superchargers. The hope is that it will make your charging sessions more straightforward and hassle-free.

VW: Committed to Your Electric Journey

With Plug&Charge now available for the 2023 ID.4, Volkswagen continues to enhance the EV ownership experience, making electric driving more convenient and accessible. As EV infrastructure evolves, VW is committed to staying at the forefront, ensuring that its customers enjoy a seamless and enjoyable journey into the world of electric mobility.
