MENASHA, Wis. – Zero 60™, a national electric vehicle (EV) charge point operator (CPO), officially activated its first fast-charging EV station in the Midwest on September 25. The new hub, located at Culver’s at 620 W. Kemp St. in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, pairs the operator’s renewable charging technology with a convenient, family-friendly destination in Northern Wisconsin.
This landmark station immediately fills a critical infrastructure gap, providing the only DC fast chargers in Rhinelander. The site sits along a state-designated Alternative Fuel Corridor, advancing the state’s leadership in sustainable transportation.
Wade Leipold, executive vice president of FTI (Faith Technologies Incorporated, which founded the CPO), noted the strategic selection. “Rhinelander was chosen because of its strong sense of community and its growing role as a destination in Northern Wisconsin,” said Leipold. “By bringing a Zero 60 station here, we’re supporting both local businesses and clean energy adoption while strategically building a nationwide charging network.”
High-Speed Technology Delivers 160 kW Power
The new station features four high-speed charging ports, each capable of delivering up to 160 kW per vehicle. To ensure a simple and efficient session, the site utilizes Omni Port Technology, which automatically identifies the EV type and makes the correct charging port available to the driver.
The infrastructure project received a major boost from the state, made possible through an award from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT). This funding came from the state’s first round of the Wisconsin Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (WEVI) program.
Local residents and EV enthusiasts celebrated the opening on September 25 with a launch event that included a live charging demonstration, food and drink specials, and educational sessions on renewable energy.

In celebration of Culver’s 41st anniversary, drivers receive a promotional rate of 41 cents per kWh through January 5, 2026. To access the discount, drivers must use the ChargePoint app and:
