The recently concluded E-TECH EUROPE 2024, a leading electric vehicle (EV) technology trade show, was a triumphant success in Bologna, Italy. With sustainability at its core, the event brought together industry leaders, unveiled groundbreaking innovations, and attracted a record-breaking number of attendees.
Throngs Eager to Explore Latest EV Advancements
Over 4,000 attendees descended upon BolognaFiere from May 7th to 8th, 2024, buzzing with excitement to explore the latest advancements in EV technology. They were greeted by an impressive display from 325 national and international exhibitors, representing the entire automotive supply chain. Attendees actively participated in informative conferences, workshops, seminars, and top-notch training sessions led by over 150 speakers. These experts, hailing from diverse backgrounds like academia, research centers, industry giants, and sector associations, shared valuable insights and fostered collaboration within the electric mobility space.
A 360° View of the Future of Mobility
Spanning a vast 23,000 square meters, E-TECH EUROPE 2024 offered a comprehensive 360-degree view of the future of mobility. Held alongside the main event was the second edition of E-CHARGE, showcasing cutting-edge EV charging technologies and services. RE-BATTERY, focusing on battery care (collection, sorting, recycling, and treatment), and INTERIORS GLOBAL, offering solutions for automotive interiors, further enriched the event.
Highlighting Innovation on All Fronts
This year’s event introduced the captivating FORTRONIC “village,” dedicated to power electronics in EV technologies. Organized by Tecno with Assodel’s support, it offered a glimpse into the latest advancements in mechatronics and robotics applied to EV production. Reflecting the ever-changing technology landscape, ample space was dedicated to exploring the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the industry.
A Look Back to Move Forward
A unique exhibition titled “Back to the Future: Two Centuries of Electric” took visitors on a captivating historical journey. Through 31 informative panels and a showcase of rare electric vehicles, the exhibit traced the evolution of battery-powered cars from the early 19th century to the present day. This included the Emilia 4, a solar-powered car by Onda Solare, alongside historic models like the 1909 C-60 V-Pope and the futuristic 1974 LEM designed by Giovanni Michelotti, courtesy of Mauto, the National Automobile Museum of Turin.
An Even Bigger and Broader 2025
Event organizers are already gearing up for an even grander edition in 2025. Scheduled for June 4th and 5th at BolognaFiere, E-TECH EUROPE 2025 will boast a completely revamped layout and an expanded exhibition area as part of the ambitious 2025 Project. This multifaceted event will incorporate RE-BATTERY, INTERIORS, and E-CHARGE alongside a new addition: TRAFFIC 2025. This first-of-its-kind Italian exhibition will focus on urban mobility solutions, including traffic management, infrastructure, road safety, and smart parking. This expanded format provides a unique opportunity to explore innovative strategies for creating more sustainable and efficient urban transportation systems.
