STAVANGER, Norway — Scandinavian smart EV charging company Easee has joined ChargeUp Europe, the industry association representing the electric vehicle charging infrastructure sector in Europe.
Founded in Norway in 2018, Easee designs, develops and manufactures smart, connected EV chargers for homes, workplaces, apartment buildings and commercial sites, and has installed more than one million chargers across Europe.
Through its new membership, Easee will contribute its experience operating a large, distributed network of connected chargers, scalable AC charging and energy management to ChargeUp Europe’s work on the future of European charging infrastructure.

Grid flexibility and interoperability
The decision to join ChargeUp Europe follows a major technical milestone for the company: Easee recently became the first Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) manufacturer to receive Mercury certification for grid flexibility services.
This certification underscores Easee’s focus on smart charging, interoperability and the role EV charging systems can play in building a more flexible and efficient energy system.

Supporting a seamless charging network
By welcoming the Stavanger-based company, ChargeUp Europe gains a member with a significant footprint in key Nordic and European markets. Close to 80 percent of Easee’s revenue comes from exports, with Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Denmark currently serving as its largest markets.

The collaboration aligns with ChargeUp Europe’s mission to accelerate the shift to zero-emission mobility and ensure that EV drivers have access to high-quality, readily available charging infrastructure across all 27 EU Member States, the UK and EFTA.
