ST. ALBANS, HERTFORDSHIRE, UK — MFG EV Power, the UK’s largest ultra-rapid charging network, has selected AMPECO’s EV charging management platform to anchor its nationwide expansion. The partnership currently governs more than 2,800 active charge points across over 550 locations, underpinning the operator’s long-term push toward high-uptime infrastructure.
As the dedicated EV division of Motor Fuel Group (MFG)—the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator with roughly 1,200 sites and a key partnership with supermarket chain Morrisons—the business is executing a strategy to deploy ultra-rapid hardware at 500 sites across the UK by 2030. MFG EV Power chose AMPECO to match this rapid installation velocity while maintaining strict network operational standards.
Zero-Downtime Migration and Technical Stability
To transition its rapidly expanding footprint, MFG EV Power completed a full platform cutover to AMPECO’s enterprise-grade system. AMPECO’s dedicated migration team managed the transition in close coordination with the operator, executing the platform switch without causing disruptions to live field operations.
For MFG EV Power, performance quality is a rigid engineering metric. The network guarantees its full advertised power capacity at every bay, regardless of how many vehicles are plugged in simultaneously, by securing grid connections sized for peak localized demand.
“The EV Power brand stands for consistent, reliable, and consumer-first EV driver experience,” said Martin Symes, EV Director at EV Power. “To deliver that, we needed a partner built for growth who would understand our requirements and be able to deliver in time.“
Centralizing a Multi-Vendor Charging Estate
AMPECO’s hardware-agnostic architecture integrates MFG EV Power’s mixed-vendor charging stations into a single operational window. This setup provides the technical operations team with real-time monitoring, automated fault detection, and remote troubleshooting capabilities, streamlining network management as new stations roll out.
Furthermore, the platform establishes a single source of truth for all data streams. Unified session logs eliminate the need for multi-system cross-referencing when auditing faults or billing. This core dataset feeds directly into the network’s broader commercial framework, supporting utility billing verification, financial planning, and future site selection.
Automated Compliance and Future Roadmap
The integration also addresses evolving UK regulatory standards. Compliance reporting under the UK Public Charge Point Regulations (PCPR) is completely automated via the platform, feeding both the government’s annual compliance submissions and MFG EV Power’s internal reliability audits.
For external access, direct Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) pathways developed by AMPECO allow seamless authentication for drivers coming from third-party eMSP networks.
Looking ahead, AMPECO’s AI-native engineering framework enables frequent feature rollouts, accelerating development velocity ninefold over the past year to continuously ship platform improvements. This development velocity directly supports MFG EV Power’s forward-looking goals—such as the rollout of Plug and Charge functionality in partnership with Hubject and targeted battery programs to bypass localized grid constraints.
