Electric Era’s RetailEdge DC fast charging solutions are designed to be revenue generating tools for retailers, so we engineered our charging systems from the ground up to break through the cost, reliability and deployment barriers that have made the industry ineffective until now.

Among our top innovations is our patented battery backed power system and proprietary energy management system that creates significant efficiencies across every aspect of the EV charging system, including dramatically reducing deployment time from years to less than 60 days, and cuts operating costs up to 70% in areas with high demand charges, compared to grid-connected chargers.

A recent example of cost benefits savings was at a site in Colorado where we were able to mitigate $4,000 in monthly demand charges to turn an ROI-negative site into a positive revenue generating opportunity for our customer.

Beyond Op-Ex savings, RetailEdge opens the doors to all-new revenue generating opportunities with our retail-integrated EV charging platform that enables retailers to attract and market to lucrative EV customers to effectuate in-store conversions and repeat visits.

Because HaloAI understands data from the car, the station – and has the full context of all prior support issues – it can assist drivers and troubleshoot charging issues to ensure a successful charging session.

HaloAI also understands data from the retailer – including memberships, loyalty programs and promotions – so it can also make specific retail recommendations or surface context-aware promotions that contribute to a higher conversion rate inside the store. These are all functions that no other charging software is doing today.

3. Deployment & De-Risking: The patented battery-backed architecture is a core differentiator. From an infrastructure perspective, how does this technology fundamentally de-risk the project, both in terms of simplifying utility interconnection and accelerating the typical time-to-market for a new site?

In applications where sufficient level-3 power is not available or where peak demand charges make level-3 charging cost prohibitive, our patented battery-backed power system radically simplifies the power input side of the charging platform and cascades technical advantages throughout the system, from slashing installation times and mitigating demand charges, to improving power output reliability and charging performance.

Beyond the power source, our end-to-end solutions team manages the entire process, from site design and system testing to installations and ongoing O&M to ensure consistently high reliability that significantly de-risks projects compared to having to manage dozens of different vendors.

4. Competitive Strategy: Given the market is increasingly crowded, where does Electric Era draw the line between necessary innovation and feature bloat, and what is the core, defensible technological moat that sets RetailEdge apart from major competitors?

Our vertical integration strategy enables us to deliver industry leading reliability while we continue to develop breakthroughs to help our retail customers leverage EV charging. Currently, that’s building out their omnichannel retail marketing programs and enabling agentic AI to further improve the user experience to drive meaningful value.

Today, only two DCFC companies are taking a vertically integrated approach and we’re leading in reliability and performance. As the industry moves into EV charging 2.0, near-perfect reliability will become table stakes, which is why it’s becoming more important to deliver on differentiation that enables retailers to extend their omnichannel programs into the parking lot.

Another area where Electric Era is leading the industry is by taking an integration-friendly approach so retailers can extend their existing loyalty and IT systems in an EV charging platform.

Omnichannel Retail: RetailEdge Experiences transforms the charger into an “omnichannel marketing solution.” Beyond charging fees, what specific integration points with existing POS systems are proving most effective in driving measurable foot traffic or increasing the average basket size for the retailer?

Many of our retail customers see EV charging as a competitive opportunity to extend their retail marketing programs, which is why we developed Experiences, a new platform to extend their marketing reach into the parking lot or forecourt.

Our customers can now leverage Experiences to bring loyalty programs, retail media networks, membership validation, and eventually point of sale and curbside checkout to the charging kiosk. One customer is integrating membership validation, making charging another value-added benefit to attract and retain new members because they know the lifetime value of each member and see the ROI of driving new signups.

Other customers are starting to use the chargers for loyalty program signups to drive repeat visits and new habits, while others see the charging kiosk as a captive audience for retail media impressions and engagement.

6. Vertical Integration: Electric Era is scaling up production and moving key systems in-house. How does this vertical integration strategy influence supply chain resilience and quality control, and how important is it to the company’s long-term goal of achieving “utility-grade dependability”?

Vertical integration has been our approach from day one, and as we scale up production, we’re further streamlining control of our hardware, firmware, and software to squeeze out any remaining dependability opportunities.

Having more control over the hardware and software systems allows us to continuously deploy and improve performance, such as communications protocols between the charger and the car, refine internal processing capabilities for payment systems and innovative integrations with retailers and their existing systems.

Finally, we see the push to bring more manufacturing here in America. We support these initiatives but we’re also aware of the challenges and complexities of changing tariffs and costs, but at the end of the day, we’ll optimize around it and meet our Build America, Buy America priorities, while simultaneously further optimizing our performance and reliability.

7. Kiosk Design & Durability: The PR highlights the kiosk as a “sleek, modern kiosk.” Considering the critical need for ADA compliance and long-term durability in high-traffic forecourt environments, what specific design considerations were prioritized to ensure the aesthetics do not compromise essential functionality and safety?

We are currently undergoing a rigorous testing and engineering release process that covers every aspect of performance, safety, reliability, and ergonomics – including ADA compliance – for our next-gen RetailEdge charging kiosks.

This includes heat, cold, RF, impact performance while also accommodating multi-lingual and hearing-impaired customers. We also found during the design process that aesthetics, functionality, and safety often go hand-in-hand – especially when we’re dramatically slimming down the body of the kiosk.

A great example of form and function was designing the cable length and routing. Aside from developing internal cooling and the requisite safety protocols, we experimented with different cord routing designs. We looked at several cable retractors and gimmicks, but coalesced around a simple and elegant charge cord design that loops the cable under a groove designed into the base of the charger as it swings to the plug holster dock.

Across ergonomics, performance, and durability, we believe we’ve landed on a design that drivers and retailers will appreciate.

8. Future Roadmap: Looking forward, which emerging technology, such as V2G functionality or deeper integration with autonomous vehicle systems, presents the most immediate and critical priority for the HaloAI roadmap over the next 12 to 18 months?

With our patented battery-backed design, AI integration in our current systems, plus our recent debut of next-generation RetailEdge with the first installations coming in 2026 – Electric Era is already advancing the future of EV fast-charging today.

Going forward, interoperability with automakers is a continuing challenge for all EV charging companies. We are committing resources to this area to ensure we stay on top of it, whether that’s for vehicle-to-charger communications protocols or mapping and discoverability, and eventually, autonomous systems.

Aside from that, our top priority for HaloAI is to enhance the driver experience, because successful charging is the bedrock of value, and then integrating into retail IT systems, be that their loyalty program, in-store navigation, or communicating with their AI platforms.

With the pace of AI innovation, it’s become clear that retailers are now focusing on AI orchestration and ensuring they’re not building different AI silos.
